Room in Quiet Fairfield Suite ($1100) – Seeking proactively clean female to share established home with 2 cute kitties
Direct bus Route 7 from Fairfield to UVic / Camosun. Would be great for a 3rd/4th year undergrad or graduate student.
Furnished or Unfurnished room available Sept. 1st in a 1100 sq. ft. 2-bedroom, 1.5 bathroom suite in a low-rise building in the heart of Fairfield. We are 3 blocks from Cook St. Village and an 8-minute walk to Ross Bay or Clover Point.
As there are already two pets, we will not take an additional pet roommate.
A Unique Arrangement: My partner lives in Ontario and I’m away for two weeks a month. This means you will have a ‘private apartment’ for half the month! When I'm home I work remotely and need to maintain a quiet, focused atmosphere during the day.
My son has been doing the daily kitty-care routine when I am away, but is leaving for university Sept. 1st. Care is easy: They have automatic feeders & automatic litter box. Rent is normally $1500/month, but discounted to $1100/month INCLUSIVE (see list below) in exchange for this care. I am ideally looking for a veterinary student or similar, but will consider others with pet experience.
The Routine:
- Daily: Administer asthma puffer (1 cat; training provided - he is cooperative and it takes 60 seconds), dry food 2x/day, wet food 1x/day.
- Weekly: Remove the pre-cinched bag from the automatic litter box & take to the on-site garbage.
All utilities / parking included:
- Heat/ Hydro/ Hot water
- High-speed internet
- Telus TV streaming
- Parking space in building lot
Suite Amenities:
- Room can be furnished or unfurnished (the rest of the suite is fully furnished; some storage available if needed)
- 1.5 bath

Fun stuff: We frequently see deer, and in the spring peahens & their 'chickpeas' go by! In the fall on occasion we'll hear owls 'whoo-whoo' in the neighbourhood, and rarely, if the wind blows right, hear the foghorn. There are 3 pairs of hummingbirds that feed at ours and a few neighbours' balconies; we've set up the feeders in the window to be an amazing 'viewer' for the buzzing by!
